The sweatbox should begin with a simulated relief briefing. At the end of the sweatbox, the student should give you a briefing.
- Clearance Delivery
- At least 6 IFR aircraft must be cleared on each config (NE and SW)
- LGA landing ILS 13 must be discussed and practiced on at least one aircraft. The student is not expected to have this memorized, however they should be able to find where it is in the SOP and be able to recite it
- LDJ IFR departures must be discussed with N801P. If you have time, have the student try a clearance - the student is not expected to be perfect on their first attempt, just ensure they understand it
- All 4 VFR aircraft must be cleared
- N2280Q must be used as an example for the Skyline Route
- N232MH must be used as an example for a Helicopter Departure
- N5331F must be used as an example for Pattern Work
- N824WT must be used as an example for VFR Flight Following
- Ground
- At least 4 fixed-wing aircraft should be taxied on each config (NE and SW)
- Helicopter N232MH must request takeoff from the helipad. The student should understand to send them to tower
- At least 1 situation must be created where the student has to instruct an aircraft to hold postition or give way
- Ensure the student understands the concepts behind sequencing and discuss some ways to accomplish this at EWR
- Arriving aircraft should be added
- Discuss taxiway ownership
