GENOT JO 7110.801

This change, effective immediately, is targeted to modify ARTCC policy.

The purpose of this Mandatory Briefing Item (MBI) is to outline and implement the updated separation requirements established in General Notice (GENOT) 7110.801. This change adjusts the existing separation standards for helicopters.

Background

GENOT JO 7110.801 revises FAA Order 7110.65, Paragraph 7-2-1. All controllers are responsible for understanding and applying the procedures outlined in the General Notice.

This GENOT prohibits visual separation when a helicopter or power-lift aircraft crosses the arrival or departure path of another aircraft in Class B, Class C, or TSRA airspace.
